The Vervain

A listed Edwardian bank turned into a hotel that keeps the vault.

The Vervain converts a Grade II listed banking hall in Marylebone. Rather than fight the building's formality, the design leans into it: the teller hall becomes an eighty-seat brasserie under the original coffered ceiling, and the basement vault — door and all — is now a twelve-seat tasting room.

Upstairs, eighty-eight rooms trade Edwardian weight for calm: dark joinery holds the perimeter while beds float in lime-washed light. The wayfinding borrows the bank's old brass ledger plates, re-engraved floor by floor.
