A studio drawn along a line.
Atelier Meridian began in 1994 as a two-person practice in Tbilisi, sketching guesthouse interiors between the Caucasus and the Black Sea. The first commissions taught us the lesson that still runs the studio: a hotel is not a building with beds — it is a choreography of arrivals, meals, baths and departures, staged in material.
Today the atelier counts twelve studios and some three hundred designers, yet every project still starts the same way: someone from the studio goes to the site, stays the night if there is anywhere to stay, and writes down what the place already knows. The design grows from those notes.

Craft
We commission local workshops first, and we detail so their work can be seen.
Longevity
We design for the twenty-year refurbishment cycle, not the opening-week photograph.
