Alba Marina

A 240-key resort that turns its back on glare and opens to the water.

On a site where the afternoon sun is the main adversary, Alba Marina is organised as a sequence of shaded courts: mashrabiya screens in pale anodised aluminium filter the west light, and every public room faces the marina through deep loggias rather than glass walls.

Procurement ran to nine countries and fourteen hundred line items, from Omani limestone to hand-knotted wool. The studio's Dubai office managed the full FF&E package, delivering the hotel from approved sample to installed room in nineteen months.
